Tate Modern
The Tate Modern is Britain's new National Museum of Modern Art. Housed in the former Bankside Power Station, Tate Modern displays the Tate collection of international modern art from 1900 to the present day, including major works by Dalí, Picasso, Matisse, Rothko and Warhol as well as contemporary work by artists such as Dorothy Cross, Gilbert & George and Susan Hiller. There is also a full range of special exhibitions and a broad public programme of events throughout the year. Tate Modern is located on the south bank of the River Thames at Bankside, near Blackfriars Bridge, opposite St Paul's Cathedral and next to the Globe Theatre.
To get there from Star Hotel, go to Hammersmith tube Station (District Line) and take an east bound train to Blackfriars Station (District Line). The Tate Modern is across the river.
