Since opening in 2000, British Airways London Eye has become a universally admired and modern symbol for 21st Century Britain. Fly the Eye and you will experience a breathtaking ride into the sky. The brilliantly engineered capsules rotate smoothly through 360 degrees, providing exceptional views on all sides throughout the 30 minute flight.. The design of the London Eye has drawn its inspiration from the history of observation wheels and from the work of Ferris himself, being the biggest wheel ever built.
From Hammersmith Station (District Line) you can go to Westminster Station or Embankment Station which are 5 minutes walk away from the Eye. The British Airways London Eye is visible from outside the 2 stations. You can get to Waterloo Station via the Northern Line by changing at Embankment. Being on the same side of the river it is only 2 minutes walk away (see map below). The Eye opens at 9.30am each day and will cost £9.50 - £10.50 for adults, £5.00 for children. Please note prices are for 2002 and are subject to change.
